If your iPhone 5 or new iPad has been feeling lonely, spending nights dockless by your bedside, have no fear — Harman has just released a pair of JBL Lightning speaker docks.
The smaller of the two, the OnBeat Micro, is a compact dock designed for the iPhone and iPod, but it has a USB port to connect to non-Lightning devices, as well as a 3.5mm stereo input. It sports two full-range transducers and weighs 0.8 pounds, which is just slightly more than the 0.75-pound super-portable Jawbone Jambox.
The OnBeat Venue LT is designed for use with the iPhone 5, iPad mini, and fourth-generation iPad, and features Bluetooth compatibility so it can connect to up to eight devices. It’s got two full-range trandsducers, two tweeters, and 30 watts of amplification, as well as adjustable EQ settings. It’s also got video out for your TV. (But if you’re using an iOS device, you might as well just use AirPlay).
The $100 OnBeat Micro and the larger $200 OnBeat Venue LT are both available for pre-order today, and the OnBeat Micro will be available at major retailers, including the Apple Store, in time for Black Friday. The Venue LT will be in stores at a to-be-determined “shortly after.”
